A sightseeing tour

A sightseeing tour of the royal town of Kadaň - A small circle
Our familiarization with the town starts in the tower of the town hall, where we can see a historical part of the town hall and Karel Havlíček´s Gallery. The tour goes on to the Holy Trinity column which people also call "the plague column". Then we move to the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross where its interior and its alter with the pulpit are the most valuable. A fountain, the so-called "Šlik´s pond" is situated opposite the church. Seeing this church we finish our tour of the square Mírové náměstí and we go on to see Kadaň castle with Josef Liesler´s Gallery and the fortifications of the town. We are going to finish all the circle by visiting the Hangman´s lane through which we are going to get to the beginning of our sightseeing tour.

From the town fortification we are going to get through the Žatec barbican to the oldest part of the town, the so-called Spital suburb, with its greatest dominance, the Church of the Decollation of St. John the Baptist. We are going to come back to the square Mírové náměstí and to Mikulovice Gate through the Hangman's lane. And for the stayers the tour heads through Smetana´s Gardens to the National monument, a Franciscan monastery with the Church of 14 Holy Helpers.
